Problem of Internet Connection on XP

What happens is whenever I'm surfing the internet when the internet goes down, these monitors in the taskbar show that the data sent and received are shut down and don't let me open the window to stop the connection. Also before dropping the internet, the taskbar of Windows XP computer is transformed for a few seconds into Windows Classic type, and the connection does not work there.

Do any one have any suggestions?

May be due to a virus. I would recommend this antivirus:

AVG Anti-Virus

I think the svchost.exe may be clipping the pagefile, or the ram goes down. Try not to overwhelm the pc much. And if you're using dial-up then that's right, it falls suddenly and have to re-connect.

I had NOD32 antivirus and it suddenly stopped working. And by the way my computer is 4 year old. I will try to install this virus (the link above) and see what happens.
