How to increase the Bandwidth of Internet

I have taken the Cable net at my place, at that time my cable operator gives me plan of 256 KBPS with the 400 Mb free download per month - 3 months has passed away, I hardly get the speed of 30 to 35 kbps and that also varies frequently because of that i cannot fully utilized the free download as well as the internet,so can any one tell how should I maintain the stability over my Bandwidth? Is there any problem related to my PC?

Hi,

1. Select Start > Run and enter gpedit.msc to Open the Group Policy Editor.
2. In the left-hand column in the window, navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Network > QoS Packet Scheduler
3. In the right column double-click on Limit reservable bandwidth and select Enabled.
4. Change the Bandwidth Limit from 96 to 0 and click OK.

Now you've disabled the QoS and enjoy the extra bandwidth.

I dont know about the programs increasing the bandwidth of internet. But you said you get the speed of 32-35 KBPS. Is this your download speed? Then I think you are getting pretty good download speed at 256 KBPS. As you must be knowing the download speed is around 1/8 of the browsing speed. Some times its even less to upto 1/10 of the browsing speed. At 256 KBPS, the download speed should be around 32 KBPS according to 1/8 calculation and that is what you are getting. So I must say you dont need to worry about the speed.

Generally what happen whenever we choose a plan.we will never get Exact speed. suppose you have choosen 256 kb plan then your download speed will be 256 divided by 8. and same goes for uploading speed.but uploading speed is divided by 16. so for 256 kb plan you will get

256/8 =25-35kb download speed.
256/16 = 16-20kb upload speed.

variation in speed is a good thing it is not possible to stabilise speed.
