    MSN - Error code 81000303

When you start Windows Live Messenger you cannot sign in, and you get error code 81000303 along with the message:

Sorry, we could not sign you in because the sign-in name you entered does not exist or your password is incorrect. 81000303
If you have forgotten your password, please click Help in the main Messenger window, and then click Help Topics for instructions on resetting your password.

In addition, you may receive the following message after trying to sign in a few times:

Microsoft .NET Passport has made your account temporarily unavailable to help prevent other users from guessing or obtaining your password.

    First Solution
    Go to Start / Run
Enter one after the other commands below. It is necessary to reboot the machine to verify the operation of MSN. If MSN does not deign always work correctly, enter the following command in the same way.

List of commands to enter one after another followed by a reboot between each:

    Code:
    wintrust.dll regsvr32 / s
      softpub.dll regsvr32 / s
      initpki.dll regsvr32 / s
      regsvr32 mssip32.dll / s
      dssenh.dll regsvr32 / s
      rsaenh.dll regsvr32 / s
      gpkcsp.dll regsvr32 / s
      sccbase.dll regsvr32 / s
      slbcsp.dll regsvr32 / s
      cryptdlg.dll regsvr32 / s
If MSN Messenger still refuses to function despite all your efforts, use another program that recognizes the MSN protocol. At least, you not only free of holes in Microsoft software, but you definitely know if the problems come from software or your connection settings.

On the other hand, many alternatives recognize several protocols (MSN, AIM, ICQ, Yahoo ...). The foot: a single software protocols to manage non-compliant!

These alternatives are clustered in section instant messaging software

Error code explanation and possible solution

To resolve this issue, check if Windows Live Messenger is allowed internet access by your firewall. Also be sure you are using the latest version of Windows Live Messenger. After installing you may have to adjust your firewall settings to allow Messenger to connect to the internet again.
