I have some very basic knowledge of IT and not what is this, as neither solves the problem. Please Can someone explain to me what could but not too technical?

Your problem is easy, but often operators wash their hands.

You are going to start - run - and put cmd and press enter, it opens the window ms-dos.
Now put: ipconfig / all to press enter.
locates the line that put Gateway default copies and the number that turns out to the right, usually all routers use the same default gateway to exit to the outside 192.168.1.1

Well once we ip the gateway to ping to it, to do this from ms-put:
ping 192.168.1.1

If everything is correct you should receive a total of 4 packages, if you do not receive packages, the problem is that your computer is not directly connected to the router, not in the network that generates the router to gain access to the outside, if the packages are received correctly spent the next step.

From the window ms-dos, put:
ping 66.102.9.147

If everything is correct you should receive the same way as before but with different lifetime of the package TTL 4 packages.

In your case I gather that if I say you do not have Internet, surely not receive packages.

If you receive packages from Google (66.102.9.147) from the console ms-but since the browser you are unable to access Google then the problem lies in the DNS servers resolved names.

With ms-dos console and retype
ipconfig/all

At the end of the last two lines appear DNS servers'S checks that are okay if they do not know calls the operator for those of you.
