Restrict or block certain web sites

How to restrict or block certain web sites (such as orkut, myspace, hi5, tagged, etc) for certain users on computer?

Here is the solution:

• Go to windows/system32/drivers/etc/
• Open hosts file in notepad
• Type: 127.0.0.1 site_name (site_name is the website name that you want to block)
• Save

Now if you are getting Cannot find server error when you are trying to access site_name than that means you have done it correctly.

You can block the site from the router by adding the ip address of the site and its port on the router's blocked list. It generally differs on different routers depending on the brand (such as Linksys, D-Link, Netgear, etc)
