    Good Bug Tracking system for Software Development

    Hey friends I am in to Software Development and have started handling some projects. I just wanted to know that which is the best Bug Tracking system for Software Development?? I have come across some but as I have not used all of them I am not sure which one will be the best. So is there anyone who can suggest me a Good Bug Tracking system so I can use it for my coming projects?? Help regarding this will be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

    Yes there are a numbers of one but Bugzilla is the best Open Source Bug Tracking System, you can use it for open source projects related to Linux kernel development, Apache development, GNOME development as well as in Red Hat Distribution system for tracking bugs. It provides the below features for users as well as Administrators.

    Users:
    1. It provides Advanced Search Capabilities along with Email Notifications which can be controlled by User Preferences.
    2. The Bug Lists can be gathered in Multiple Formats along with Scheduled Reports and charts (Daily, Weekly, Hourly, etc.)
    3. It helps users in Detecting Duplicate Bug Automatically and File/Modify Bugs by Email as well.
    4. It provides Time Tracking, Request System, Private Attachments and Comments
    5. Using this user can View Patch, Watch Other Users, Save and Share Searches and can Move Bugs between Installs.


    Administrators:
    1. It provides Excellent Security with Extension Mechanism for Highly Customizable Installations

    You can check out the below ones as well:
    1. Mantis – It has been written in PHP and has support for MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL and several other databases.
    2. Trac – It has been written in Python, it has a simplistic and easy interface for tracking bugs. Other than tacking bugs it also provides project management features, wiki, and integration to subversion.
    3. Redmine - It has been written in Ruby on Rails and rather than Bug tracking it provides full project management features.
    4. Request Tracker - It has been written in Perl it can be used a ticket tracking system along with standard issue management.
    5. OTRS - It has been written in Perl and rather than Bug tracking it has all standard defect tracking features.

    I will suggest you to go for EventNum, it is written in PHP and has been developed by the MySQL team. It comes with all the features that one need. You just have to make sure that you are fulfilling the requirement of EventNum and it will work like a charm.

    System requirement:
    • Webserver capable of handling PHP scripts (i.e Apache HTTPD Server)
    • PHP 5.1.0 or newer having below extensions
    • PCRE Extension
    • Session handling enabled
    • MySQL Extension
    • GD Extension
    • IMAP Extension (c-client imap library)
    • gettext support for using localization
    • SMTP and POP Server for email support
