Functional Configuration Audit & Physical Configuration Audit

I am studying quality assurance in software engineering. I came across the terms FCA (Functional Configuration audit) & PCA (Physical Configuration Audit). I tried searching them on internet and used many reference books. But I could not find enough data for it. I would like some help on these topics.

Re: Functional Configuration Audit & Physical Configuration Audit

FCA stands for Functional Configuration Audit. This activity is conducted under quality assurance section in development of software. In this activity, the designated person for Functional Configuration audit is responsible to check if the configuration items function the same way during tests & evaluation as they are meant to work according to documentation about development specification & Product Specification.

This audit is conducted on each configuration item individually as well as after they are integrated. The FCA is completed before the configuration items are forwarded for production.

Re: Functional Configuration Audit & Physical Configuration Audit

PCA stands for Physical configuration Audit. In this activity, the designated person for Physical Configuration Audit is responsible to check if configuration items are physically similar to assembly drawing, design data & parts list.
This audit is conducted after the configuration item is completed.
