assigning a parameter for Select Expert in CR 9

I am using Excel 2003 VBA to store some data. I want to prepare some reports from the data in excel. I am using Crystal Reports 9. The model of my data is in the following :

File No Name Design DOB DOR Doj
xxx xxxx xxxx xxx xxx xxx

But in my report I need to produce the above data as:

    File No : xxxx
    Name : xxxx
    Design : xxx
    DOB : xxxx so on,

To get the above model of the report I learnt to use Select Expert from a reference book. I did the same, then I have to give parameter to open a particular record pertaining to a particular file number.

Pls describe how to assign parameters to the select expert ?
