    Error 1603. Adobe Photoshop CS4

    I receive an error 1603 when installing the application or the Adobe CS4 suite fails . The error 1603 may receive the following forms : " Error 1603 . A fatal error occurred during installation "or "# # _AdobeError_ 1603 ". Please help. Thanks in advance.

    The 1603 error is an error code indicating a failure MSI generic , but specific to the computer. This document lists the suggestions to resolve this error . The following table lists the known causes of errors that may occur in 1603 with the installation of Adobe . You need to Unlock the file sRGB Color Space Profile.icm .
    1. Locate sRGB Color Space Profile.icm it is by default located in C : \ windows \ system32 \ spool \ drivers \ color \
    2. Unlock it using a utility system files . For example , the shareware " Unlocker
    You can also contact Microsoft support to help you unlock the file.

    You need to delete Google Desktop .
    1. Uninstall Google Desktop .
    * Windows Vista
    1. Select Start> Control Panel , then double - click Programs and Features.
    2. Select Google Desktop , then click Uninstall . To remove the product, follow the instructions.
    3. Restart the computer .

    Install Adobe Creative Suite4 or point products in a folder to a single byte.
    1. Start the installation of Adobe Creative Suite4.
    2. Follow the instructions on the screen to access the Location dialog box installation.
    3. Click Browse and select a file without double-byte characters.
    Note double -byte characters or ASCII characters are requiring more bytes for their description . Most languages using glyphs , such as Japanese , have used double -byte characters for display.

    You need to delete the contents of the folders 'temp 'of the user and system
    1. Delete the contents of the file "C : \ WINDOWS \ Temp ".
    2. Delete the contents of the Temp directory of users as follows:
    * Windows XP: Go to Start > Run.
    * Windows Vista: Start > All Programs> Accessories> Run
    3. In the Open dialog box , enter % temp% then click OK . The contents of the Temp folder is displayed on the computer .
    4. Select all the files in the Temp folder, then press the Delete key to delete the files

    You need to check that the Windows Installer Service started

    1. Do one of the following:
    * Windows XP : Go to Start> Run and type services.msc.
    * Windows Vista: Click Start and type services.msc in the search box.
    2. Double -click the service called Windows Installer .
    3. Verify that the Startup Type field is set to Manual.
    4. Click OK to confirm the setting .
    5. Try reinstalling your application CS4 .
