    MSVC++ SourceSafe initalization error

    Hi,

    I am using Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Professional Edition. While opening the .sln file related to my work the following error always occures:
    There was a failure initializing the Microsoft Visual SourceSafe source control provider. You cannot use this provider to perform source control operations.

    I click OK and proceed to my work every time but I want to get rid of this error if possible. I tried to change few properties pertaining to the error message but no luck.

    Please help.
    Pavan

    Re: MSVC++ SourceSafe initalization error

    Hello,
    I think this is because during the installation you have registered the Microsoft Visual SourceSafe. This is the provider for your software, you can find it under
    Tools->Options->SourceControl/Plugins.
    I am not sure but you have to make it active from there. If you want to do it manually you can go to the following path in your computer.
    Code:
    "C:\\Program Files\\Microsoft Visual SourceSafe\...."
    This is the file which is related to this. Try this and if you have any more problems then you can post with the error you are getting.
