    Migrating oracle to MySQL database

Migration of oracle to MySQL database :

The oracle database and its contents can be possibly converted into MySQL database but the few thing that is impossible to support named BFILE and MLSLABEL.

I am going to introduce you about a software which can migrate into oracle to Mysql. It is named as Oracle-to-MySQL software which is free available on the internet but would be for limited period as a Demo.

You have pay for the full version of this software.

    Limitation and requirements to use

    Limitation and requirement:

This utility has some limitation and requirements during functioning and implementation for migration. The Limitations are described below :

    • Unable to migrate the oracle stored procedures.
    • User defined types for columns can't be migrate.
    • Connecting with Oracle database as SYSDBA or SYSOPER is not allowed

And the requirements are as follows:
    • The RAM should be 32 MB.
    • The Machine should be configured with Oracle client and networking components on which you are going to implement this utility.
    • Required privileges should be granted to access and update the destination database.

Migration process of oracle to MySQL database

    Procedure to covert :

The software applied some strategy to continue the migration procedure. It works in this way,The utility convert the Oracle data into a local MySQL dump file.It doesn't export the whole data at once. This dump file contains some MySQL statements which is used to generate all database tables and to fill them with the data.

In this way the oracle database can be migrated into Mysql database but can't perform advance configuration of database.
