When I install java software, it gets installed successfully. When I run the applets I am not able to check it in browser. I have checked the applets using Mozilla firefox. Does anyone know what I am actually suffering from.? Solutions are most welcomed.!!.

If you want to install the browser plugin for java, do as follows :

ln -sf /usr/java/<YourJavaDirectory>/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

You can also use this step for Mozilla Firefox :

ln -sf /usr/java/usr/java/j2re1.4.2_03/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugins

**note: You have to replace <YourJavaDirectory> with the actual name of of your directory.

You said that you are using Mozilla as your browser. I know one way for your problem. You have to place a link on the browser plugins directory that points out to
libjavaplugin_oji.so on the "jre/plugins/i386/ns7" java installation directory. After doing this you will able to run your applets in the browser.

First thing try to Enable Java in the Add-ons manager.You can do this: "Tools -> Add-ons -> Plugins -> Java plugin -> Enable". After completing the enabling process of Java, restart the browser (that you are currently using) and then the test some pages to make sure that Java is working. Then try the above mentioned process given by kelfro. You can run your applet now.
