How to generate trans.log in SAP

How to generate the logs that the users make transactions in SAP/R3. And once it has been generated where it get stored, My problem is that when starting import on target client, it runs for some hours and then the transaction log gets full and stops the import.

These two File SLOG and File ALOG Summary of transport request can be found in this folder (/usr/sap/trans/log). If you want to view user activity using sql command then follow the steps ahead. Tcode ST05, Click Trace on, There are 2 files - ALOGXXXX. & SLOGXXXX.. 'XXXX' indicate year & month respectively. Level 1 File SLOG- This file gives an overall view of all imports running in the SAP System. The ULOG files shows the summary of the transport for the system lanscape.

    File ALOG

This file contains individual return codes for all the transport steps performed in the transport directory. To be on the safer side you can change the database to non archive mode and then do the do.copy.In this way you shall have no archive logs generated and have good performance. A short status report is also entered for each export or import carried out in the transport directory. Level 3 Logs of the individual transport steps

If you talk about the application log you can as well trigger the SBAL_DELTE program in background to delete application log at frequency of every 10 mins. client independant objects are not imported again. This umode normally only appears in the buffer when umode 0 has been used. With STAD or ST03 we are able to view the logs user by user or what users have made a specific transaction, but we need the overall information about what users have made what transactions.
