Re: How to set up RSS feed for your site

RSS is a method of distributing links to content in your web site that you'd like others to use. To set up you have to Use the free WebReference RSS Channel Editor to set up a channel, Then forward Upload the file you've created to your webserver. These are similar to HTML tags, with the exception that unlike with HTML, there's no set definition of XML tags. Validate the XML to make sure it can be read by the multitude of news aggregation programs. Advertise your RSS feed (channel) to various directories and to your site visitors.

Decide where you will put the file on your Web site. You may want to have multiple feeds in the future, so consider putting it in a directory called "rss."Use a RSS syndication tool built into the content management or blogger software you may be using. Decide on a filename that you will not change and put it on your Web site in a location that can remain the same for the foreseeable future.

Re: How to set up RSS feed for your site

RSS feeds are a kind of web content created in XML format which makes it simple for publishers to distribute content and for users to collect news in one central location. News aggregators are the software tools used to read the RSS news feeds that you and your customers will subscribe to. RSS as introduced by Netscape in 1999 then later abandoned in 2001 stood for "Rich Site Summary." An RSS feed can be used to publish and maintain links to your e-mail newsletter or articles contained in your web site and it?s not that complicated to set up.
