Standard Website Dimensions

I am just learning to develop websites... I have heard we can make website in different dimensions but i don't know what is the standard dimensions ???? Can anyone tel me what dimension should i use so my client don't have to scroll...! Please Help...!

I don't know weather there is any standard Website Dimension. I have seen Most of the users are using a display with 1024x768 pixels, with a color depth of at least 65K colors. I hope you also use the same which i think has become standard now.

I suppose it really depends what you size up your site ends. I incline to the width not more than 760 px. That way it neatly on a 800x600 or - or the larger screen has passed. You can center it and it still looks good. That the basic lot size for each of my sites.

800x600 is even a little large for a fixed width, mostly scroll bars at the sides of most browsers get it down to about 780 wide. Many places now set the width back to the user based resolution instead of a liquid place that is 100%. So would you use JS sheets and drafting of the multiple to determine what style to use.
