VB6 - Query against Textbox/Datagrid(ADO)
VB6 - using ADO
MySQL - database
I am writing a program in VB6 and I have a form with a datagrid (which I am populating with data from a MySQL table) that is bound to textboxes on my form. For example I have 'First Name', 'Last Name' and 'Middle Name' as columns in the datagrid and textboxes.
What I want to do is be able to query in those textboxes or in the datagrid itself. For example if I want to find everyone in the 'Last Name' column where their last name starts with D then I want to be able to put D* in the textbox or column in datagrid and hit enter and have all those records show up.
Is this possible?
Re: VB6 - Query against Textbox/Datagrid(ADO)
Its good to see you on TechArena,
First what you want to do is not clear.
If you want to search your database & fetch result then you can query your table & fetch result for Surname or Username etc whatever you want. Make sure to place a new textbox to enter the value & fetch the result on Search button.
I hope this helps.
