Insert page numbers symbol in word 2007 crashes

I have some applications which is in the office 2007 enterprise, When I open some applications through it and when I click Insert Symbol in Word '07, the program promptly crashes. I'd like to be able to insert symbols. Does anyone has come across this issue earlier, this has happen for the first time with me.

You may also resolve this issue to the great extent by following:

for that you need to Go to Tools->Options->View->Show ->Uncheck(clear) the field codes.

and you could also be go for second option as follows

File[Office Button]=>Word Options=>Advanced=>Show Document content and uncheck "show field codes instead of their values"

To insert page numbers in Word 2007:

When you go for word 2007 in the Insert tab, you will find an option called Header and Footer group, click Page Number.

you may also configure the header and footer by Clicking on one of the following options: Top of Page, Bottom of Page or Page Margins.

Select a page numbering style.The page numbers will now appear in your document.

If this also doesn't help you out then just try to uninstall and reinstall the word 2007.
