I get the above error whenever I try to connect my web server. And when I try this from the command prompt I get a blank screen. I am completely blank and so I need your help on this. Can you help me some how?

Compile it as cgi and not as an apache module. This will provide you with a binary file that contains a lots of details on php and how to resolve this. Are you having PHP4? If not then do install it using "sudo apt-get install php4". Even newer version helps you throughout your interface.

First of all if you already installed apache, mysql, perl auto installers then disable it. Now download the php installer from www.php.net/downloads.php and then go to command prompt and type the below code and confirm by pressing Enter:
