An Alternative to Joomla

I must arrange a project on work and am on the search to alternatives to Joomla.

Up-to-date there the version is 1.5. The problem, before which I stand, is that some the extensions, which I need not for the version 1.5 it was changed and I work in the Legacy mode. That is first times not bad.

However the version 1.6 is to probably come in the course of the yearly. This will have no more possibility of using the old extensions. I must, if the necessary extensions are converted (if at all) everything to make again new.

My project must be finished however I need another CMS (or any alternative for it).

There are the following conditions:

• 3 (max. 4) different log in levels with the necessity that the superordinate ones can access also contents of the subordinates.
• Document administration for approx. 500 documents (doc, xls, pdf), which comes with the different log in levels clearly.
• Integration possibility for a forum (Login in the system Login is simultaneous in the forum)

Has there who ne idea??

Rear one, thus a small list of the CMS'e, which have also a good user base as far as I know after and with sufficient Plugins are supplied:

- Drupal
- Typo3
- Typo Light
- MODx

and completely hot: Silverstripe

dosent work quite the same, but php-fusion is pretty good. It accepts all html codes and does a wonderful time on load speed.

Drupal produces an excellent separation layer between the published look and feel of your web properties and the admin. That means the admin can be streamlined to be easier to use, while the public facing component can evolve independently.
