3D: Onyx Computing is in the grass

The company Onyx Computing has announced availability of its software OnyxGRASS, dedicated to the 3D modeling of various types of herbs. This announcement comes the release of Onyx2Max, allowing the integration of new flagship Onyx software modeling 3ds Max and two updates OnyxGARDEN Suite 2 and OnyxGARDEN SuperBundle 2.

The main advantage of software such as that developed by Onyx lies in its procedural rendering. It does not, even though the grass is an extremely complex, large capacity memory. The user accesses, however, a wide range of parameters such as the width of herbs, their density, shape or color.

The software Onyx2Max, OnyxGARDEN Suite 2 and OnyxGARDEN SuperBundle 2 to allow them to integrate Onyx models to more general software such as 3ds Max, Autodesk, or Cinema 4D. Prices range from $ 200 (OnyxGRASS), 250 dollars (OnyxGRASS + Onyx2Max), and up to $ 700 for OnyxGARDEN SuperBundle 2. A demonstration live an hour will be held on 20 January 2009 at 16h on http://3dats.com/
