How to know if an application requires .Net ?

I made a MSI with Visual Studio 2005 (Framework 2.0), and dependencies detected, it does nothing (not including the Framework 2.0). Is that enough to prove that the MSI generated will not need the Framework 2.0? This project Setup contains only basic files, not binary or link to a .Net project.

Otherwise, in general, how do we know if an application requires the .Net? On my machine, I can not uninstall the Framework 2.0 because the uninstall program tells me that this is impossible because it would cause problems with other applications (VS2005 I imagine).

install a virtual machine with Windows 95. because you can not install .NET above 2.0, this will be immediately fixed.

Good idea. I do not have a lot of RAM on my PC (1 GB), but if I have time I will do that. But I will put Windows XP rather because I am not sure to find a CD of Windows 95

At the same time when we developed a product, we just know if it was a Win32 or a .NET project. And if the project is in .NET than target on .NET 1.0, 1.1 or 2.0

You're right, but as I said in the first post, this is not a .Net project:
This project Setup contains only basic files, not binary or link to a project. Net.
So, a prior no need of framework. But I wonder if a project, .Net type setup, does not require framework if no files are needed to install the framework. At first no, but I want to be sure.

It depends on the version of Windows Installer I think. It seems to me that the last which is necessary to install the SQL Server 2008 framework requires at least 3.5 or the 2.0 SP1.
