Need help in formating numbers into amount

Hi friends , i am new to ms excel

when i use worksheet with a column that has number 320 and When I go to format it into currency, etc. I select the decimal to move 2 places. Although it keeps giving me $48,600.00. I don't want that. What I need is to make my number 32000 $320.00I want it to put $486.00.

Hi , Here is a solution of your problem

Type 320 in a blank cell and copy that cell. Now select the range of cells to be converted and after that go to edit menu click on paste special in that check Divide and Values .click ok.
