    rewrite source code

    Hello,
Well, I would like to know if it was possible "humanely" and easy to rewrite in a language most recent (C + +), the source code for a rather old MMORPG (Visual C). Unfortunately, I do not know the language of the source code, I only know it was developed in 1995. MMORG This is the 4th Prophecy.

If you have the source code in question is possible, just long and boring to have the same result in the end.

But it is still possible with a top team.
For example, retype the whole code in another language, include DirectX, make support for Direct3D graphics etc?

Maybe, but it is having a screw that ca ...
As far recode the game in question, I think it will take less time to rewrite and add more functions (which could quickly become very messy).

That is the goal in fact.
It is a 3D game iso developed in 1995.
The goal is to recode to incorporate new engines (3D, networks etc), to overcome in 3D graphics make sound max 2 most of whom are corrupt or unusable or plug-ins that no longer exist.
Just to make it requires a powerful machine because the graphics are managed solely by the processor, impossible to run on a server machine with a multi-core because they raise concerns in relation to other threads.

Is it not possible to isolate only the graphical source code and to communicate the rest with a new engine?

In this case it should be full source code.

Humanly possible and feasible yes (at least in outline), but extremely time consuming and complex, calling in addition to know extremely well the specs of resources (I guess you're not going to the remake) when they are available.
