Recommend Programming language

I am a novice in the programming world and want to know with which language to start with. What would you recommend?

I recommend Visual Fox or Visual Basic, ASP and dynamic pages.

Looks like not many people begin with any other than Visual basic or C. I started with pearl and i will tell you go for any such. One thing is sure that when you learn one language, the other becomes easy to learn.

depends on what you want ... I use Java (eclipse) recently and has filled my expectations .. if you want to learn, begin with VB or VFP.
