WSUS 3 - Installing updates with a higher than 25 percent failure

We are running with SBS 2003 R2 server installed with WSUS v3.0 SP1. There are various Windows XP Pro client workstations connected to this server on which we recently installed Service Pack 3. Since then, we keep getting the following error message on all workstations:

Message: Client computers are installing updates with a higher than 25 percent failure rate. This is not normal.

Am sure we dint changed any permission or any settings. Can anybody please let me know what has went wrong to my systems?

I am not sure what exactly have caused the problem but I think running WSUS database cleanup may help you to some extent. I run this WSUS database cleanup script time to time and never had any such problem even after installing SP3. It helps to optimize (re-indexes) the database. I think you should try running the same.

Hello Buriim, can you just capture a screenshot of the exact symptom when the error occurs, save it to *.jpg files and send to me. This will help us to understand the exact problem and will allow us help you better. If possible also gather and send WSUS MPS Report.

Meanwhile, just download a file named “MPSRPT_SUS.EXE” from here http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...5-a579-30b0bd9. Run this tool to gather some information from the problematic server.
