    POP3 Error- Event ID 1019, 1023,1029,1036

I have got SBS 2003 installed and it gives this errors once in a while. How am I suppose to fix it and what is going on with this error? The admin mailbox isnt used and I have checked that certain events in SBS 2003 need to communicate with the adminstrator mailbox. Is this one communication event with the admin mailbox that is cauing the occurences:

Source Event ID Last Occurence Total Occurence

    POP3 Connector 1019 3/23/2008 1:01 PM 23 *
The message download process finished with one or more errors

    POP3 Connector 1023 3/23/2008 1:01 PM 23 *
The downloading process for mailbox <administrator [domain.local]> was ended with one or more errors.

    POP3 Connector 1029 3/23/2008 1:01 PM 23*
Access was denied to the mailbox <naidudbn.local> logging on as <administrator>. Verify the password for the mailbox account, and try again

    POP3 Connector 1036 3/23/2008 1:01 PM 23 *
An error occurred during a POP3 transaction to server <domain.local [administrator]>. The error is 0 (The operation completed successfully. ).

Have you tried to use Outlook Express and login to the Admin's mailbox? You may be able to get these errors because the password to login to the admin's mailbox is not correct.

Thank you for the replies. Yes, I am using the POP3 and the mail collects at the ISP and every 10 minutes the server downloads from the ISP and distributes it to the client PC's. I dont have a fixed ip address.

There are some problem with the POP3 Connector, there is no doubt. Is the problem is with the email that is not coming through at all to you? Just that you are seeing the errors and trying to collect mail from the Admin account?

It could be possible that the problem might be caused by the MyDoom virus, so download a tool to help you remove variants of the Mydoom, Zindos, and Doomjuice worms from your computer. Version 4.0 of the Microsoft Mydoom Worm Removal Tool supports removal of the Mydoom variants A, B, E, F, G, J, L, O, Zindos.A, and Doomjuice variants A and B. To download Version 4.0 of the Worm Removal Tool, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/mydoom.mspx
