| RE: fax console deletes faxes automaticly from the inbox
Hi Tal, Thanks for posting in our newsgroup. Before we go further on this issue, please let me know the following to make the situation more clearly: 1. You said "all incoming fax are going into the inbox and then deleted from it automaticly when i refresh the window." What is the inbox your refer to here, is the Inbox of Fax Console or Outlook? 2. Can you find faxes in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\MSFax\Inbox folder? If the faxes are missing from Fax console, please take the following steps to narrow down this issue: Step 1: By default the incoming fax is stored in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows NT\MSFax\Inbox folder. The issue occurs when the Inbox folder is corrupt. Please save the fax to another folder and test again. 1. Open Server Management. 2. Right click Fax (Local) and select Properties. 3. Ensure Archive all incoming faxes to this folder is checked. 4. Click Browse to save fax to another folder, such as Inbox1. 5. Click OK. 6. Try again. Step 2: The issue may be caused by third party software such as Anti Virus software. Please arrange your time to make a clean boot, then test if the problem can be reproduced. To make a clear boot: 1. Click Start->Run...->type msconfig and press Enter. 2. Click Services tab and select Hide All Microsoft Services and Disable All third party Services. 3. Click Startup tab and Disable All startup items. 4. Click OK and choose Restart. 5. After reboot, check whether the problem still occurs. 6. If there are no more problems, please use the above steps to enable services and startup items one by one in order to figure out the root cause of this issue. In addition, to avoid missing incoming fax, a suggestion is to routing the incoming fax to Mailbox, Shared Folder or SharePoint. To do this : 1. Open Server Management and go to Fax (Local). 2. Click Configure Fax Services. 3. Click Next 3 times. 4. On the Inbound Fax Routing page, click Configure. 5. Select the location. 6. Click Finish. I am looking forward to hear from you. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know. Hi Simon, Thanks for your reply. According to my experience, this issue may be caused by third party software such as Anti Virus software. Please disable all third party application and services and then have a reboot to see if the problem can be reproduceed. If the issue persists, please understand we usually support one issue per thread, a suggestion is to open a new thread here and we are glad to help. If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.
