| user list not updating in global address list
If I add a user or remove a user from SBS2003, why is this not reflected in the global address list on a users pc in there Outlook? Does it take awhile for it to update itself? If so, can this time be adjusted or is it automatic? Sorry, new user to SBS2003. Thanks, CEV |

It happens automatically overnight. Then Outlook updates itself to the new "offline address book," usually when the user starts Outlook in the morning. So for example if you add a user now, although you'll be able to enter their address and send them mail immediately, you won't see them in the GAL until tomorrow. The way to do it immediately is to go to Exchange System Manager and navigate to Recipients -> Offline Address Books. In the right pane, r-click the default address book and click Rebuild. Then go to the client PC and in Outlook, click Tools -> Send/Receive -> Download Address Book. FWIW, I just wait, and would not bother with any of this.
