One of my friends bought a SBS 2003 which never had exchange setup. When I check the same, I found that the information store and related services were not started as well. When I tried starting the same from services applet, it gives me the following error message:
"Windows could not start the Microsoft Exchange Information Store on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor and refer to service-specific error code 0."
When I try to run SC query from the command prompt for store.exe, it generates one more error as follows:
“C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator>sc query store.exe [SC] EnumQueryServicesStatus:OpenService FAILED 1060:
The specified service does not exist as an installed service.”
Apart form these, there are few more errors listed in Sys logs full:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: Service Control Manager
Event Category: None
Event ID: 7024

Time: 2:42:34 PM
User: N/A

Somebody please help.
