    SBS 2003 R2 - Backup Problems

I have installed SP2 recently and since installing it keep getting below error message:

    Backup Runner started.

    Backup Job" /l:s /f "I:\Backup Files\Small Business Server Backup
    (02).bkf" /UM
NTBACKUP LOG FILE: C:\Documents and Settings\SBS Backup User\Local
    Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
    NT\NTBackup\data\backup10.log
    =====================<BEGIN NTBACKUP LOG FILE>=====================

    Active backup destination: File
Media name: "Small Business Server Backup (02).bkf created 5/24/2007

Volume shadow copy creation: Attempt 1.

Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:0x8007000e.

Error returned while creating the volume shadow copy:Not enough
storage is available to complete this operation.

    Aborting Backup.

The operation did not successfully complete.

Is there anything i can do to get rid of this error.

    Re: SBS 2003 R2 - Backup Problems

According to the error message you are you have less space in the Drive compared to the backup you might be trying to take. Did you check the space in drives? If you haven't then you can just cross check it and let me know.

    RE: SBS 2003 R2 - Backup Problems

That's not the case. I have crossed checked, and there is enough space in the drive compared to the backup i am trying to take. There is something else that is causing the mentioned error to come up.

Ill suggest you to re-register VSS binaries and services. You can follow below steps for the same but just make sure that you are stopping the Volume Shadow Copy
    Service before following them.
    • Click on start > Run > Type "cmd" and hit enter
    • Now change the directories to \windows\system32
    • After that run below command to stop the service:
    • net stop vss
    • Once done, you can register below dlls and services

    regsvr32 ole32.dll
    regsvr32 vss_ps.dll
    Vssvc /Register
    regsvr32 /i swprv.dll
    regsvr32 /i eventcls.dll
    regsvr32 es.dll
    regsvr32 stdprov.dll
    regsvr32 vssui.dll
    regsvr32 msxml.dll
    regsvr32 msxml3.dll
    regsvr32 msxml4.dll

Thanks a lot Amitgujaran , your solution helped. Since registering the dlls and services i haven't received the same error single time.
