| inetinfo.exe process is allocating more memory than usual restart does not alleviate the problem. The inetinfo.exe process is allocating more memory than usual. The following services are hosted by this process: IISAdmin, POP3SVC, RESVC, and SMTPSVC. For more detail, review the event logs for events related to these services. It may help to stop and then restart these services. You can disable this alert or change its threshold by using the Change Alert Notifications task in the Server Management Monitoring and Reporting taskpad. -JoeF |

| RE: inetinfo.exe process is allocating more memory than usual
Hi Joe, I have the same problem. I receive the message every day at exactly the same time everyday. It is immediately followed by this message. ---------------------------------- A large amount of memory is committed to applications and processes. Consistently high memory usage can cause performance problems. To determine which processes and applications are using the most memory, use Task Manager. Monitor the activity of these resources over a few days. If they continue to use a high level of memory and are less critical processes or services, try stopping and then restarting them. You can disable this alert or change its threshold by using the Change Alert Notifications task in the Server Management Monitoring and Reporting taskpad. ------------------------------ I have noticed over the time that this message seems to occur around 20mins after a reboot, and then it continues at that same time every day until the next time I reboot and the cycle starts again. If anyone has any idea how to fix this I would love to hear it! "JoeF" wrote: > Please help me on this error I'm getting for the past 2-3 weeks. Increase the monitoring threshold value if you are still using the default value that the SBS assigns when its installed. Thanks Steve, I just went into check what the value was and it is set to 2147483648 (2GB) however the "30-day counter average" is at 3,023,030,676.0 Does this indicate a memory issue? Should we be looking at increasing the server's memory? We actually have 2GB of RAM in the server currently. Are you running PE with SQL? If so 3-4 GB is probably better. You still need to adjust the thresholds to reflect your specific server's usage. | Re: inetinfo.exe process is allocating more memory than usual
We are running PE with SQL, but we aren't using SQL heavily. It only has a few test databases. In all honesty, the SQL databases hardly get touched these days. We have a separate SQL server now. Adding memory to the server has been at the back of my mind for a while now. How can I tell if we have any memory bottlenecks? "Steve" wrote: > Are you running PE with SQL?
