DCOM Server process Launcher Issue

I am having trouble starting my DCOM Server process Launcher .
So I did a SFC /SCANNOW.
This led me to having to re-install a few files from SBS 2003 CDs - then it
asked for the SP2 CD.

I do have the files for SP2 but they are in the .EXE file that you download
form MS.
Even if you create a CD from the ISO image on MS - this still only gives you
the EXE file.

If I run just the SP2 - it hangs midway.

I can't seem to win here. Is it possible to get the SP2 as a CD with actual
files and not as an executable with compressed files?

RE: DCOM Server process Launcher Issue

Hi,

Thanks for posting in our newsgroup.

I am sorry for the delay due to the weekend.

From your description, I know when you run sfc /scannow command on SBS
server, the wizard prompts for Windows 2003 SP2 disk. If I am off-base,
please don't hesitate to let me know.

Please do the following:

1. Copy WindowsServer2003-KB914961-SP2-x86-ENU.exe to C:\.

2. Open CMD window and type " c:\WindowsServer2003-KB914961-SP2-x86-ENU.exe
/x" (with no quotation marks) and press Enter.

3. Specifying a path for the extracted files (such as C:\SP2).

4. Rerun sfc /scannow command, when the wizard prompts for Windows 2003 SP2
disk, click Browse, select C:\ SP2\i386 and then click OK.

Hope the information helps.

If you need further assistance, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Best regards,

Robert Li(MSFT)
