| Server Application Unavailable
Every now and then this page appears when users try to access our Intranet home page at http://companyweb/default.aspx.....There is no information to be found in the application event log to reflect a problem w/ accessing this page.....nothing has changed to disrupt our access (no updates or reboots or power failures).....a day later it works and users can access the page....then some unspecified time frame this error shows up and clears itself up the next day or a couple days later.....It will start working again if i reboot the server but that is not always a possiblity during working hours......Below is the exact message displayed...oh, and refreshing the screen does not correct it either.... Server Application Unavailable The web application you are attempting to access on this web server is currently unavailable. Please hit the "Refresh" button in your web browser to retry your request. Administrator Note: An error message detailing the cause of this specific request failure can be found in the application event log of the web server. Please review this log entry to discover what caused this error to occur. Any clues? TIA!!! |

Hi KBJM, Thanks for posting here. From the description, I understand the issue is that when you access companyweb, you get "Server Application Unavailable" error, and It is intermittent to occur. If I am off base, please don't hesitate to let me know. Let us refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue: There are many reason for the error message. Please refer to the following KB article. You may receive an error message, or the computer may stop responding, when you host Web applications that use ASP.NET on a computer that is running Windows Server 2003 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/911716/en-us FIX: You receive a "server application unavailable" error message in the Session_OnStart event of your application http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834053/en-us Error message when you request an ASP.NET 1.1 page: "Server Application Unavailable" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/919075/en-us "Aspnet_wp.exe could not be started" error message when you view an ASP.NET page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811320/en-us FIX: ASP.NET does not work with the default ASPNET account on a domain controller http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315158/en-us FIX: "Server Application Unavailable" error message if a DLL is loaded in the 0x33A20000 address space and you request an ASP.NET page http://support.microsoft.com/kb/821157/en-us In addition, you can run Ipconfig/all > c:\ipconfig.txt,and copy and paste the result here. Anyway,as you said,it is intermittent,so It is possible due to the performance and load issue. Have a nice day!
