Time on server does not match desktops

The time of SBS does not matches with workstations. It is common with around 15-20 systems in the network. I had configured the settings properly but still it looks that the workstation do not sync with the time. I had tested the settings two time but still the issue is common. Is there any additional settings that I am musing. How to sync the same with some switch that would allow me to have a common time on the entire network.

There are some basic settings for that. You go with your own time server, or you can try out some provided by Microsoft. There are some links that I had provided below. This provide you time settings for XP. The process is common in all OS. You have to recheck the settings once again and then see whether it is working fine or not.

Did you tried Windows update. There is a patch available for the same. The second link on the above post has a fix available that you can download directly for Microsoft site and run it. The patch fixes the time sync problem. But still if you are not able to get proper time, run the patch and then manually configure the time settings. It would work properly.

How to fix your time sync issue

I assume your running MS Windows 2003 server and the windows XP workstations are not syncing there time properly with the server.

You can manage your workstation time from Group Policy:
    goto you default GPO goto:
    Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Windows Time Service
change your settings here, add your server name
    myserver.localdomain.local
and select the proper options for your domain workstations to sync w/ NTP server.

    Refer to this article: http://technet2.microsoft.com/window....mspx?mfr=true

    Good Luck.
