| Outlook Web Access / Autofill?
I have several employees who rely on autofill, but it doesn't work on the web access. Is there a solution? |

nope, because you could be using a different PC each time you connect to OWA. it's no different than if the user goes to a different PC within the network and logs on to use Outlook -- it won't remember your autofill from one pc to the next. -- Kevin Weilbacher [SBS-MVP] "The days pass by so quickly now, the nights are seldom long" "Scott" <Scott@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:F96F6AA3-42A2-4E24-A27C-BA1107731200@microsoft.com... >I have several employees who rely on autofill, but it doesn't work on the >web > access. Since OWA is SSL Autocomplete won't work. (or do you mind anyone who has access to your PC able to login to your Bank account?) There are probably some third party tools but they may stop autocomplete also. What exactly do they need autocomplete for? (A particular field?) | Re: Outlook Web Access / Autofill?
Russ, generally my users have gotten use to 'autofill' in outlook for entering the names of people they want to send an email to. And you don't have that with OWA. for reasons like that, I generally recommend to my users to use OWA as a quick way of looking to see if any new email has come in, and replying to those emails. But if they have to create new emails, and want to be able to select users from public folder contact lists, etc. -- I tell them to either use Outlook over RPC or connect up to a Term Server (if they have one) and use Outlook from there. -- Kevin Weilbacher [SBS-MVP] "The days pass by so quickly now, the nights are seldom long" "Russ - SBITS.Biz (MCP SBS)" <support@REMOVETHIS.sbits.biz> wrote in message news:enXSH0EBHHA.1220@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Since OWA is SSL Autocomplete won't work. > (or do you mind anyone who has access to your PC able to login to your > Bank account?) > > There are probably some third party tools but they may stop autocomplete > also. > > What exactly do they need autocomplete for? > (A particular field?) > Russ > > -- > Russell Grover > SBITS.Biz > Microsoft Certified Small Business Specialist. > MCP, MCPS, MCNPS, (MCP-SBS) > Remote SBS2003 Support > http://www.SBITS.Biz > > > > "Scott" <Scott@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message > news:F96F6AA3-42A2-4E24-A27C-BA1107731200@microsoft.com... >>I have several employees who rely on autofill, but it doesn't work on the >>web >> access. I know??? or I'm confused. (Which is more often the case. sometimes) My Point was AutoComplete won't work on some SSL Sites for obvious reasons. (Some Fields) Because if you put in your bank account ID and login on your Secure Bank website any person who access your PC could login to your bank account just using autocomplete... I don't know what Fields they want to complete, but address fields will auto complete with names in your directory.. (Maybe they are talking outside emails?) | Re: Outlook Web Access / Autofill?
most users get used to autofill on their own computer, and then wonder why it doesn't remember the same names when they use a different computer. -- Kevin Weilbacher [SBS-MVP] "The days pass by so quickly now, the nights are seldom long" "Russ - SBITS.Biz (MCP SBS)" <support@REMOVETHIS.sbits.biz> wrote in message news:e0Eye3IBHHA.4256@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >I know??? or I'm confused. | Re: Outlook Web Access / Autofill?
I should have clarified the intent was for e-mail addresses. Yes, I am aware of the windows explorer auto-fill feature which by policy, is disabled. Since Outlook appears to run independently from this, I was curious if it was stored elsewhere and accessible. I guess I agree Kevin, OWA seems to be for the quick dunk. They will need to connect to the server here to get any real work done. Thanks for your replies.
