Volume Shadow Copy service starts and stops every few minutes

I have got some issue with the Volume Shadow copy service on our SBS 2003 R2 server that will usually start and then stop every few minutes all day, since shadow copies are only scheduler for twice a day, so why is this cycling occurs? Also, the microsoft software VS service does the same thing? Any ideas?

Have you tried to enable the Volume Shadow Copy service's debug tracing features in Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2008. If not then you can follow the step by step guide given here - http://support.microsoft.com/?id=887013
