| DCOM got error "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password."
Hi, I have SBS 2000 w/ Exchange 2000, SQLServer 2000. All latest service packs. On approx 4 times a minute I get the following error in the System Event Log Event Type: Error Event Source: DCOM Event Category: None Event ID: 10004 Date: 22/09/2006 Time: 11:15:46 AM User: N/A Computer: SERVER Description: DCOM got error "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. " and was unable to logon DOMAIN\Administrator in order to run the server: {888FC943-CB7D-43E7-BB64-905342B0D34D} I have changed the Administrator password, which is clearly the problem. But there is no match for the GUID in the registry. Any suggestions welcome! |

It looks like that GUID is for MailBasketMD program. This program runs as an activeX DLL with a COM+ application. Perfect! I had to open Component Services in Admin Tools and configure the new password for MailBasket. Thank you Michelle. Regards, Seth. |
