| DCOM got error "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password."
Event Type: Error Event Source: DCOM Event Category: None Event ID: 10004 Date: 22/09/2006 Time: 11:15:46 AM User: N/A Computer: SERVER Description: DCOM got error "Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. " and was unable to logon DOMAIN\Administrator in order to run the server: {888FC943-CB7D-43E7-BB64-905342B0D34D} While troubleshooting I found that there is no match for the GUID in the registry. Could this be the problem? Please suggest some solutions. |

Yes ofcourse the GUID may be the problem. To me it appears like GUID is for MailBasketMD program. Which runs as an activeX DLL with a COM+ application. You can get more info about this here: http://www.turbogeeks.com/products/mailbasket.asp |

Thanks a lot for the help SMichael. That exactly was the problem. I just went to Component Services in Admin Tools and configure the new password for MailBasket. That’s it. Problem solved. Help appreciated. |
