    Error 0x80072F17

I am using SBS 2003 with Exchange Service Pack 2 installed. I have a user with a PDA running Windows Mobile 5.0version. This PDA is able to sync through a cable with a desktop computer properly but it fails with error 0x80072F17 if I am trying to sync with the server, either via a cable over the lan or through the phone network. I think that this error is certificate related and I have disabled SSL on the PDA and require secure channel is disabled on IIS\server\websites\default website\Microsoft-Server-ActiveSynch Directory Security Secure Communications. Now, if the PDA is trying to sync then I am getting prompted for the username or password.

You can try to add root certificates to Windows Mobile 2003 Smartphone and to Windows Mobile 2002 Smartphone by following the method given on this link - http://support.microsoft.com/?id=841060

Also check the 3rd party certificates compatible with Windows Mobile devices here - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jasonlan/arc...14/550747.aspx
