    SBS 2003 SP1, Exchange SP2, Activesync error 0x85010004

I have installed SBS 2003 SP1 with Exchange SP2 and I am also using a Treo 700W with the messaging/security feature pack. If I am trying to sync it, then I get the "Your account in MS Exchange Server does not have permissions to sync with your current settings. Error code: 0x85010004." I have read the documents listed in other posts to verify settings on the exchange-oma directory, which seems to appear correct, and ensured the ESM >> Global Settings >> Mobile settings dont require a password. I am also using a third party cert and I dont receive any errors when accessing https://mail.mydomain.com/oma from the handheld or from my computer. I have also tried to sync both with and without SSL with the same issue. Is there any other solutions for it? Thanks.

Alright, can you tell me whether you want a direct push of email or are you just wanting to do OMA?

Follow the below steps to solve this issue:

    1. First of all try to back up Exchange, for that you can use backup software that is included with sbs 2003.
    2. After that you can try to reinstall Exchange (ADD/Remove Programs "Windows Small Business Server 2003" ) select reinstall exchange and have installation disks ready.
    3. So now, after the reinstall - Install Exchange Service pack 2
    4. After that restart the server and then try mobile /active sync with pda.
