RE: Perflib Warnings after Windows updates

Event ID 1016 and 2003 error message are related to Windows SBS 2003 update. They wont harm your system but they might fill your system log. In order to get rid of the error you can add below registry key, just backup your system current registry key to be at the safer side.

Go to start, type "Regedit" without quote and hit enter

Once registry gets opened click locate below registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Perflib
Click on Edit menu, click on Add Value, and add below value:
    Value Name: Configuration Flags
    Data type: REGDWORD
    Value: 0x01

When you are done with the above changes, just save it and Quit Registry Editor.

Yes these events occur because of Windows SBS 2003 update. I want to know if you have installed some update recently? There are possibilities that some corrupt DLL might have infected the update because of which you are getting that error message after starting your system. Just run a through scan in your system and see if any virus is found. After that use Windows Search tool and verify that its version is 6.0.2600.1.
