Re: how to set Auto-reply for a public mailbox in Exchange 2003

In Outlook 2003, go to the Properties of this public folder and click
on the "Administration" tab, then "folder assistant",
then "add rule",
cCreate a rule. The only modification I make is to check the box "Reply
with" and then I create a template by clicking on "template".
Click "OK". A message pops up saying that "This rule will fire for all
incoming messaages. Is this what you want?"

Make sure the folder is set up with mail-enable and you give the folder
send-as permission.

I hope it's ok for me to hi-jack this thread...

I'm trying to set up a public folder rule as well, but I only want it to
fire if there's a certain string in the subject. In my tests, it seems the
subject field for a public folder rule is "all or nothing" and not
"contains", unlike a single user's rules. Meaning if I put "RE:" or "RE:*"
in the subject, the subject has to EXACTLY match that instead of just
starting with that. Is there a way to do this?
