Fax service, error 32092 and 0x4000802 on SOME incoming faxes

Hi all, I've set this SBS 2003 a few months ago, and went with the
integrated Fax server instead of the old and unreliable Winfax. In
general, I find it to be great.

I have a problem with some incoming faxes tho, as some will not get
thru. When I check the server's Event Viewer, I see error 32092. I also
checked the log in the fax\log\InboxLOG.txt, and saw this error message
:"The fax machine did not respond in time, and the call was terminated
0x40000802". The server HW is a Dell PowerEdge 1420SC, and the
modem is a Conexant D850 56K V.9x DFVc Modem. The driver is up to date,
and I've already tried the KB839501 from Microsoft. I tried
re-installing the driver, and Conexant doesn't provide a generic driver
for Win2k3. I'll be waiting for your help. Anything will be
appreciated.

Thanks

Here is the error from the Event Viewer

RE: Fax service, error 32092 and 0x4000802 on SOME incoming faxes

Dear Customer,

Thank you for posting to the SBS Newsgroup.

I understand that you encounter Error ID 0x40000802 on your SBS Server. If
I have misunderstood your issue, please let me know.

I am sorry but I cannot find your Fax Modem Conexant D850 56K V.9x DFVc in
our Windows Server Catalog. Please see:

Windows Server Catalog Conexant Search Result
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/cat...ubID=22&xslt=g
lobalsearch&qu=Conexant&scope=1

I suggest that you contact the fax modem manufacturer to confirm it
compatible with Windows Server 2003.

Actually, based on my research in our database, I found several appearances
of the same issue (Event ID 32092 with error 0x40000802) were all caused by
incompatible modems and a replacement of the modem solved the issue.

I am sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your cooperation!

Best regards,

Brandy Nee

Thanks, I will suggest the modem replacement. This came from the
factory (Dell) that way, and thought that it would have been compatible.

Re: Fax service, error 32092 and 0x4000802 on SOME incoming faxes

Ok, Monday morning, finally been able to spec a modem for the customer.
I've checked the Windows Server Catalog and finally was able to find a
modem I could get from my suppliers. I will be trying a USR5610B Fax
modem, which I think should be fine. Anyone as any experience with that
particular model?

Thanks
