| Snap-in failed to initialize. I´ve run dcpromo in order to uninstall AD, with the propose of change the domain name. Everything went ok but now when I launch the server management console it returns me the error : Snap-in failed to initialize. Name: Small Business Server Administrator home Page CLSID: {01429521-E3F9-48F4-931C-BD6E6608CD54 I´ve run, afetr this error the following command: regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Windows Small Business Server\Administration\adminhp.dll" It worked but in any item of the Server Management console I click, I get other snap-in errors.... Can you help me to solve this issue? Flatten the box, and start again, making sure to choose the right AD domain name during installation. -- Steve Foster [SBS MVP] --------------------------------------- MVPs do not work for Microsoft. | RE: Snap-in failed to initialize.
Hi Miguel, Thank you for posting in SBS newsgroup. Based on my experience, this issue could occur if some files get unregistered for some reason. Because you have re-registered the file and the problem still persists, the reason may be the SBS 2003 Administrator component is corrupted and let us perform the following steps to reinstall it: 1. Click Start, point to Control Panel and click Add or Remove Programs. 2. Select Windows Small Business Server 2003 and then click Change/Remove. Click Next in the Setup Wizard. 3. On the Windows Configuration page, click Next. 4. On the Component Selection page, in the Action column, change Server Tools to Maintenance, change Administration to Reintall and then click Next. 5. On the Component Summary page, click Next. 6. Click Finish. In addition, the following document is for your reference: Backing Up and Restoring Windows Small Business Server 2003 http://www.microsoft.com/technet/pro.../bkuprstr.mspx I appreciate your time. If you need any further assistance please do not hesitate to post back.
