| two exchange mailbox for the same user
Hi, I'm trying to access with a single user to two differente mailbox. I gave the option full access permission to the user but if I open outlook I still have only one mailbox. How can I configure outlook or user properties to let him receive email from the two different mailboxes and to send with the two email address? |

Once you've given permissions, it's not automatic. You'll have to manually add the mailbox to the Outlook profile. It's also profile specific (do it on each machine the user logs on to). In Outlook, depending on the version, find the mail account settings, select the More Settings button, Advanced, add the other user's mailbox. -- Ace This posting is provided "AS-IS" with no warranties or guarantees and confers no rights. | RE: two exchange mailbox for the same user
In Outlook you go to Tools | Account Settings On E-mail Tab, highlight your exchange mailbox and cick Change On the next screen choose More Settings Than Advanced Tab Click Add on the right side of Mailboxes Type Mailbox name Click Ok and than Next And you are done Full Mailbox Permissions does not allow a user to send from the mailbox, to allow a user to send you need to grant him a "Send As" permission. Here are the details (copied from technet): Start the Exchange Management Console. In the console tree, click Recipient Configuration. In the result pane, select the mailbox for which you want to grant the Send As permission. In the action pane, under the mailbox name, click Manage Send As Permission. The Manage Send As Permission wizard opens. On the Manage Send As Permission page, click Add. In Select User or Group, select the user to which you want to grant the Send As permission, and then click OK. Click Manage. On the Completion page, the Summary states whether the Send As permission was successfully granted. The summary also displays the Exchange Management Shell command that was used to grant the Send As permission. Click Finish. Krystian, Just an FYI for the original poster, they are the instructions to set Send As in SBS2008/Exchange 2007. In SBS2003/Exchange 2003, it's done in ADUC (that's had the Exchange tools installed) of the user account that you want to allow Send As & Receive As on. If this is Ex2003, the easiest way to do it, is to go into the user account AD properties, Security tab, Add the user you want to give Send As and Receive As and you should automatically see Read permissions selected. Scroll down and add Send As and Receive As. Ace Ace |

| Re: two exchange mailbox for the same user
Others have posted about *how* to give a person access to multiple mailboxes, but I want to ask *why* you want to give the person multiple mailboxes. Based on the very limited information in your post, I just want to make sure that this is the best way to solve your problem. If all you want is the person to receive emails from multiple addresses, by far the better solution is to assign a second (or third or fourth) address to the *same* mailbox in exchange. This is an easy task and not nearly so complicated as it requires no changes in outlook or with permissions. As far as sending from two different addresses in such a configuration ,there is no built-in functionality in outlook to handle that setup easily, but there are good 3rd-party add-ons that make such tasks trivial. -Cliff "ariz" <ariz.3xsbfc@DoNotSpam.com> wrote in message news:ariz.3xsbfc@DoNotSpam.com... > > Hi, > I'm trying to access with a single user to two differente mailbox. | RE: two exchange mailbox for the same user Hello ariz, Thanks for your post and also thanks for others good suggestions. Like Cliff pointed, I also wondering why would you like to create two separate domain accounts with two Exchange mailboxes for the particular user? If you want to send on behalf of other, you can configure Delegation; if you want to send as other, you can grant Send As permission just like other have suggested; furthermore, you can also easily add an additional email address for that user as different email recipients via configuring mail Recipient Policy. For your reference: How to grant Send On Behalf Of permission http://www.cryer.co.uk/brian/msexcha..._behalf_of.htm Hope it helps. Best regards, Robbin Meng(MSFT) Microsoft Online Newsgroup Support |
