WSUS SP2 Requirest Updated Report Viewer

FYI, when you install WSUS 3.0 SP2, you need to upgrade to the newest
version of the report viewer. I've installed both the SP and the viewer on
my SBS 2003 and my Vista workstation. Both installed easily and with no
reboot required. After the server install the configuration wizard starts -
just cancel it.

Hey, remember new math? I'm just starting to use new spelling : -)

Outlook spell checks the subject line, but apparently Windows Mail doesn't.
Something worth knowing as my eyesight worsens with age.

I note on that page Dave that Server 2003 is NOT in the list of
supported OS's.

I downloaed (yet to install) the SP1 version (which DOES include support
for server 2003)...

Re: WSUS SP2 Requirest Updated Report Viewer

Good catch - I was not aware there were two versions. I did install the one
I linked to on my Vista PC, so no problem there. Now I'm off to see which
one I installed on the SBS. (The one on the SBS works, but I may have
lucked into downloading the correct version there).

RE: WSUS SP2 Requirest Updated Report Viewer

It would have been nice had the WSUS team let us know this in blogs,
articles, or even included it in the installation package for SP2. But
thanks for posting it for us - with the link. On the WSUS blog article about
SP2 it mentions that you need the updated viewer but doesn't even have a
link. Sad.
