Upgrading IIS6 to IIS7?

I’m using Windows SBS 2008 server with IIS6 and as my title says, I want to upgrade it to IIS7. I tried searching web about how to upgrade but only found steps describing adding it as a role etc which I don’t want. I just need to upgrade it from IIS6 to IIS7. So need you guys help. Can you tell if I need to first remove IIS role first then re-apply the version 7?

First of all I’m confused whether you are using SBS 2003 or SBS 2008. Because as far as I know SBS 2008 comes with IIS7 IIRC (you said you using 2008) and if you are using SBS 2003 then I don’t think it is possible to upgrade to IIS7.

Yes that is correct. SBS 2003 comes with IIS 6 and cannot be upgraded to 2008. In order to use IIS 7 you will need to upgrade SBS itself to 2008. But if I quote a line form your first post which say “I’m using Windows SBS 2008 server with IIS6”, how is it possible? Just recheck your system.
