| Outlook Web Access does not show calendar event details or tasks
I just had a user contact me about an issue with a SBS 2003 machine running Exchange 2003 with the service pack installed. There haven't been any issues on this machine for awhile. However the user running IE6 out of the office on a laptop can connect to OWA and view/send emails. However the problem occurs when he goes to the calendar tab. It shows the event on the 1/7/31 day views, however if he doubleclicks on an event it pops up a window and it is blank. If he clicks on a recurring event it asks him which one he wants to see and then it does show up correctly. Also nothing happens when you click on Tasks at all. I don't have my notes in front of me, but awhile back I had a user on Vista and/or IE8 that needed some Microsoft patch put on to allow OWA to work for them. I believe it was this patch that changed the color of the menu from blue to red as well. I'm not sure if that has something to do with this issue or not. Any ideas in finding the solution would be most appreciated. -- Thanks in advance Blaine |

There's no patch needed. This is a client side issue. Out of the box, IE6 runs OWA just fine. Have the user run Microsoft Update on his laptop, install all needed updates for Windows and other apps, and install IE7. |

| Re: Outlook Web Access does not show calendar event details or tasks Hello Blaine, Thanks for your post and Lanwench's input. As far as I know there isn't any known issue recently about IE update caused OWA problems. I agree with Lanwench that it should be a specific client computer issue when accessing OWA and best practice is to make sure that client computer is up to date with all needed updates including Windows system updates and IE updates. Thanks for your time. Best regards, Robbin Meng(MSFT) Microsoft Online Newsgroup Support |
