cannot boot into sbs normal or safe mode

Having trouble after a drive failed in a raid mirror...
changed drive and the disk doctor ran for a small time

The server boots to the message
"security accounts manager initialisation failed because of the following error.
error status Oxc00002e1. Please click ok to shutdown"

it asks me to go to directory services restore console....but the server will not boot into that or safemode the server gives me the message applying computer settings on the screen and seems to hang.....

What is my next course of action........

Peter - very frustrated

ok waited about an hour and im into directory recovery mode "now what"

Re: cannot boot into sbs normal or safe mode

the event log main error is that the wins.mdb is no longer present
Event id 494

It Says the database was not brought to consistent stae before it was removed. (or possibly moved or renamed). the database engine will not permit recovery to complete for this instance until the missing database is reinstated. If the database is truly no longer available and no longer required, please contact PSS for further instructions regarding the steps required in order to allow recovery to proceed without the database.

heeelpppp please

ok i emptied the c\windows\system32\wins folder and netstarted the service that seemed to fix that....but the server still refuses to boot normally....same message

The server boots to the message
"security accounts manager initialisation failed because of the following error.
error status Oxc00002e1. Please click ok to shutdown"

it asks me to go to directory services restore console

any suggetions please

Hi,

Hit F8 after the BIOS screen and you should get the menu where you choose
the Directory Services Restore Mode.

Re: cannot boot into sbs normal or safe mode

Peter

Did you try to boot the server with the healthy disc on its own from
the broken mirror?

That would be my first course of action!
When was your last system state back-up? and could you restore this?

When your mirror failed did you power the server down remove broken
disc and restart? Has the server run at all since the mirrored disc
broke?

If you could access the registry try deleting all data from the
following key
HKLM\System\CCS\MountedDevices, and reboot.
