Outlook license in SBS08

"Exchange 2007 does not include Outlook, it is not in SBS 2008" Does it mean
we need to buy outlook for every workstation, or is there any alternative to
avoid buying outlook and still use exchange emails on SBS08 environment.

Re: Outlook license in SBS08

most versions of Office include Outlook.

Some people suggest that the interface provided by Exch07 OWA is close
enough to the real thing for them.

Re: Outlook license in SBS08

I think the assumption was that you'll be using some form of MS Office in
your office and the Outlook 2003 included with SBS 2003 was redundant. So,
yes, with SBS 2008, you'll need Outlook 2003 or 2007 (prepacked with MS
Office or outright buy). I haven't heard that OpenOffice has released an
Outlook compatible email client yet (at one time they were working on it).

Re: Outlook license in SBS08

Yes Outlook 2007 does not come with SBS2008
That is because of the licensing change in Exchange 2007

I recommend buying MS Office Suite with Software Assurance.
This will give your People a License for their Work PC and one for home
(So they can be Double Productive)

If you only buy Outlook 2007 or want to..
There is a big Plus for reconnecting to the exchange server with Dropped
Wi-Fi connections

In addition Outlook 2007 will allow you to use BCM that actually works for
more than 1 user
you can put the database on the SBS server and Share with all people.

If you have a Sales Group, BCM or something like it, is a must IMO
