    Disable autorun with group policy

    I am running SBS 2003 Standard with XP workstations. I want to disable autorun on all workstations using group policy. This strikes me as being a fairly obvious thing to want to do, but I am not able to find the setting anywhere in GPO editor. I have searched for a solution to this problem but I am not able to get the results. Can anyone please help me out? Thanks.

    Follow the below method:

    1. Click Start, type Gpedit.msc in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
    2. Under Computer Configuration, expand Administrative Templates, expand Windows Components, and then click Autoplay Policies.
    3. In the Details pane, double-click Turn off Autoplay.
    4. Click Enabled, and then select All drives in the Turn off Autoplay box to disable Autorun on all drives.
    5. Restart the computer.

    Re: Disable autorun with group policy

    *For those who don't want to dig further:
    It is safest to disable CD autoplay in XP using either local group policy or, for an enterprise, an Active Directory group policy. The local group policy editor method:

    * Click Start
    * Click Run
    * Enter GPEDIT.MSC
    Group Policy mmc will popup. On left panel:
    * Double-click Computer Configuration to open submenu
    * Double-click Administrative Templates to open submenu
    * Double-click System to open submenu
    * Double-click Turn autoplay off option which will be near the bottom of the list in the right panel.

    The default is the Not configured . Set it to Enabled.
